And The Award Goes To…

I launched my first blog, this one, around December 2014. However, it picked up pace, comments, likes and followers following my involvement in Writing101 in April 2015.

And I noticed a lot of bloggers nominating each other for some award or the other. To tell the truth, I was hoping that I wasn’t to be nominated as I am not familiar with the blogs of others. But then, the path we take to avoid destiny is often the path that leads to it.

I decided to stop doing all these blog awards.

No more blog nominations

While I really appreciate that people think of me while they have to do nominations, I think there are other stuff that we can do to encourage one another, instead of these awards. So, thank you for these awards, but instead how about

  • Reading what we write, and giving feedback via the comments section, or with the contact page.
  • When we find posts that we like, we could share it with the people around us.
  • If we like a blog, in particular, we could follow it, or recommend it to the people who we know will love it.
  • If something inspires us, we could write, and then talk about what inspired us. This will create a chain of posts that will help us catch the eyes of readers who love to read what we write.

However, that doesn’t mean that I’m going to remove what I already wrote. Anything below this line is from a time when I did accept and write about these awards. So cheers to all the folks who were nice enough to nominate me. I’ve mentioned them and linked to their respective blogs. Do look around their blogs and you might find something of interest there.

I’ve been nominated thrice now. And I better nominate others before someone else nominates me and I run out of candidates for my nomination process.

  6. What is your strongest personal quality?
I believe my strongest personal quality is my lack of inhibition.
  7. When was the last time you had an amazing meal?

Here are the Award rules to follow:

  • Once you are nominated, make a post thanking and linking the person who nominated you.
  • Include the Liebster Award sticker in the post too.
  • Nominate 10 other bloggers who you feel are worthy of this award. Let them know they have been nominated by commenting on one of their posts. You can also nominate the person who nominated you.
  • Ensure all of these bloggers have less than 200 followers.
  • Answer the ten questions asked to you by the person who nominated you and create ten questions of your own for your nominees.
  • Lastly, copy these rules in the post.

The word Liebster is German for the following:

[II] The Creative Blogger Award:

I’ve had a couple of people nominating me for CB award.

You will need to:

  1. Step 1- Nominate 15-20 blogs and notify the nominees.
  2. Step 2- Post the link of the blog that nominated you.
  3. Step 3- Share five random facts about your humble self.

The blogs that nominated me:

UDAYOLOGY – Fellow night time blogger and Potterhead. Mostly the first to read my posts and comment. we have our differences – yet we get along. Loves reading, writing, and music. Do visit his blog.

CONFUSEDANDCRAZILYCURIOUS – The alliteration in the title sums it all up. Confused. Crazy. Curious. Add one more for creative. An avid supporter of Net Neutrality. Head over there for some really cool stuff.

And here are the nominations.

All the best, nominees. May the force be with you.

Here are the five random facts, first:

  1. I follow a flexitarian diet, meaning I’m comfortable with sticking to either a vegetarian or a non-vegetarian diet depending on what’s provided.
  2. I sometimes collect coins. Not really ancient ones used by queens and kings. More recent coins that are released to commemorate some special occasions like the birth anniversary of a national leader.
  3. I’m obsessed with ink pens. Even though I own less than five of them – each one of them is a treasure to me.
  4. If you’ve been reading my posts, you’d know this already: I am a huge Potterhead.
  5. And to top it off, an unknown fact – I have never “studied” the rules of English grammar. While it has been a part of my syllabus through school, and that it’s been taught by my beloved English teachers. I‌’ve never learnt the rules in a traditional manner. I‌ can never grasp my head around things like the differences between a gerund, an infinitive, and a modal. But I‌ do know if a word works in a sentence or not. I know how to repair a car, yet I don’t know the names of the parts.

  1. Congrats and well deserved!

    But –

Step 3- Share five random facts about your humble self.

You seem to have covered it with an invisibility cloak.
