The Foxes and the Grapevine
The quick brown fox jumped over the lazy dog
and into the vineyard she hastily did jog.
She reached for the grapes that were held high
and when she couldn’t, it did sigh,
“Those grapes are sour – not for me to hog.”
Saying so she went her way
Searching for a different choice of prey.
But following her, came another fox
who entered by jumping across the gate’s locks
and sighting grapes – he entered the fray.
He saw the grape being rejected as sour
padded to the vine on his feet numbering four.
The foundation of the plant had been made weak
by the attempts of the fox who first did seek
And to his lair with his bounty, he did soar.
And so the new moral of the tale
Is that you must never stop even if you fail.
Even if you are tripped and fail: Do not terminate.
For a seed has to fall, before it does germinate!
Because what you stand to lose, another does nail.

Thank you 😀 Wow. It’s an awesome feeling you know, when the person whose work you look up to actually stops by to compliment you. Thanks again.

I mean, I really do like the way you weave around emotions in your posts and manage to make the reader feel what you want them to feel 😀
I know this is a repeat, but, “It’s an awesome feeling you know, when the person whose work you look up to actually stops by to compliment you”

Very clever poem with a great moral. Well done. Loved the picture, too. I’m the bottom guy!

Thanks. C’mon don’t be so harsh on yourself – we all have had our missed chances and lost an opportunity as we didn’t hear it’s knock on the door. But then again, we all have made the best of opportunities we didn’t miss – like our respective blogs for instance. 😀

I like your continuation of the old fable, including the new moral of the story. The cartoon illustrates that new moral well.

Well, I suppose I am happy that the message got across then. Sometimes, we all do want some stories to go on, you know, past the “The End” part.
Some call that as fan fiction 😉 😛

I love the rhyming pattern – 11221! So clever! And yes of course, it’s a great theme executed really well. A nice take on “Never Give Up”

Thaanks. Someone pointed out that my 1122 rhyme scheme was becoming repetitive. So I’m looking for new ones. Or maybe even a poem without a rhyme scheme – got to try my hand at that.

I will give u new patterns no! Try 123123! 😀 Or a poem where the first words rhyme, not the last.
