Monumental Moments

From time to time, we come across moments in life.
Powerful, painful but poetic moments
that go through you like a sharp knife.

It is these moments make your life
feel as if it were a work of fiction.
These moments, so surreal,
are enough to be an addiction.

Some as simple as seeing someone
you just happened to think.
As hurting as three friends walking alone
in three different directions.

They mark not just differences of opinion.
They mark a choice of different decisions.

These moments are hard to forget.
Their lasting impressions are forever set.

These are the moments that you will remember
that bookmark the book of your life, forever.

These truly special moments are the ones that we should grip
just as special as a proposal – the milestone for a relationship
or the first handshake that sows the seed of friendship.

For such painful moments of separation show us that,
if they are enough to care, we care enough to be hurt.

Remember these moments forevermore.
Not to reminisce or cherish,
but to remember them till we perish
as the moments that that shaped our life from the core.
